The problem Web3Mentor solves

Just like someone who climbed a mountain in 100 hours can guide you to do it in 50 hours with improved techniques.

Our vision is to build an interactive platform that redefines how people connect and exchange knowledge. Our ultimate goal is to make it the next major milestone in social media, leaving a profound impact like Twitter or LinkedIn.

In the current landscape, mentorship platforms often come with exorbitant fees, making them inaccessible to many. We aim to change that by creating an inclusive platform that connects students, professionals, and entrepreneurs with valuable mentors at an affordable cost. Our platform fosters meaningful relationships, empowering individuals to seek guidance and support.

Built on the principles of transparency, our platform utilizes smart contracts on the Flow blockchain. These contracts ensure fairness by defining a minimal platform fee. Each meet request is managed through a smart contract acting as an escrow account. When a mentee submits a request, the payment is securely held in the escrow account. After the mentor accepts the request and a successful meeting takes place, the payment is transferred to the mentor's account based on the mentee's feedback. This seamless process ensures trust and accountability within our platform.

We also prioritize data integrity and decentralization. Real ratings are stored on the blockchain, while documents are stored on IPFS, ensuring security and accessibility. Additionally, our platform supports easy cross-border payments, making it hassle-free for mentees and mentors from different regions to connect.

Challenges we ran into

Designing the flow and setting up IPFS and Hardhat was little new for us. We had a hardtime to understand a little of the flow. We also set up the server and created a few Rest APIs.

Overall experience was good and learned alot.
