There are multiple problems with physical in-person parties:

1. they might be physically inaccessible (due to geography or space constraints) for some people
2. they are more expensive to run
3. knowing who someone is at a party before you speak to them is a challenge
4. interacting with others on chain in person is clunky and high friction.

Alternatives like conference call apps like Zoom bring about their own problems. The serendipity of a hanging out physically with a bunch of people is gone. There are no organic subgroup dynamics, no spatial connections being made on Zoom.

The problem statement I was initially working on involved the use of some sponsors' technologies that were too nascent with not much documentation for me to use. Therefore I decided to pivot halfway through the hackathon leaving me very little time to work on Wagmi Party.
