This is a vintage style re-design of Twitter Web and App UI to give people a feel of the olden days and add to it, the flavor of nostalgia, that makes it even more fun to use.
This redesign would give the use a timeless and elegant user experience that encourages users to engage in thoughtful and meaningful conversations.
To design a “vintage” themed Twitter website and application, we kept in mind that when it comes to vintage, the use of icons unlike the current design styles was not as prominent at that time, so we tried our best to replace the icons with texts, for example the word “home” is used instead of an icon of “home” or the combination of “icon + home (word)”.
Since it is Twitter but in vintage style, we tried our best to keep the colour palette as close to the original colour of Twitter i.e, shades of blue and cyan are used throughout.
The typography was kept bold, and we were initially confused on what typography we should use. But, in order to make the design not so heavy, we decided to stick with “Courier” font styles. Also, for bold headings and headlines, we used “Bebas Neue”.
The logo of this Twitter redesign was designed on Canva. We didn’t do any icon styling, because like vintage days, the text itself is represented as the logo of the website. So we used the font “Carlson Script”, while adding a shadow, and keeping the logo with a tint of cyan and blue.
