Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

In my experience as a mentor and leader in HER DAO, I have helped women develop their skills in Web3, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes both personal and professional growth. Additionally, I have led projects in hackathons and educational programs aimed at impacting the Latin American region, connecting talented women with the Web3 ecosystem. My work has always focused on driving talent and leadership, and in recent years, I have placed a particular emphasis on women in technology, which I believe is vital to closing the digital divide and providing equal access to resources and opportunities.
The Based LATAM ecosystem provides me with the opportunity to expand this mission. I firmly believe that Latin America has immense potential to become a global leader in the adoption of emerging technologies, but this progress must be accompanied by equity and real opportunities for those who have historically been excluded from the tech space. Based LATAM is the ideal space to connect with a technological community that shares my vision of creating transformative change. It is also the perfect place to present my decentralized platform, which redefines how women are recognized in the tech industry for their contributions.
My motivation is clear: to change the global paradigm of work, starting with Latin America. I want to be part of a technological revolution that not only highlights skills but also creates a positive and sustainable social impact. Participating in Based LATAM is not just an opportunity for growth but a way to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and just ecosystem, where women's talent is seen, valued, and rewarded to its fullest potential.

What challenges are you focusing on?

Gender gap in technology in Latin America: Only 23% of women hold technological roles, highlighting the underrepresentation of women in the sector. This limits their access to key positions and restricts their ability to contribute to new technological solutions. With Base, I aim to create more opportunities for women to access training, mentorship, and roles in Web3, empowering those entering or advancing in the sector.

Underrepresentation and stereotypes: Gender inequality perpetuates stereotypes that limit women's visibility in technology and reinforce the false idea that technology is a male space. This reduces the number of role models for future generations. Through my work and Base’s support, I strive to change this narrative by showcasing the contributions and leadership of women in Web3 and creating spaces for their recognition.

Obsolescence of work’s definition: The current definition of work relies on resumes and interviews that contain biases and do not meet the needs of the tech sector. Traditional evaluation models fail to reflect real contributions, especially in decentralized environments like Web3. My platform reimagines work by focusing on professional contributions and demonstrated skills, eliminating the biases in traditional systems.

Disconnection from modern collaboration: The traditional concept of work excludes those contributing to platform economies, open-source projects, and Web3 communities. This creates a gap between those in formal structures and those working in decentralized ways. Base lets me create a space where these contributions are valued and rewarded, shedding light on new opportunities and collaborations.

My goal is to close these gaps, enhance visibility for women, and redefine work to align with modern technological demands.

How does your submission address this challenge?

The platform will operate through staking. Users can stake the tokens they earn from their contributions, helping to fund the ecosystem. In return, they will receive additional rewards, encouraging continuous participation. The more tokens are staked, the higher their value, creating a system where contributors directly benefit from the growth of the platform and the community.
The platform's potential lies in its ability to change the paradigm of what we consider work. By showcasing contributions as if they were displayed on a "fashion runway," women will be able to highlight the value they bring to society in a brilliant and visible way. This proposal not only closes the gender gap in the workplace but also transforms how talent is valued and rewarded in a more collaborative and decentralized world.

Challenges I ran into

One of the biggest challenges I have faced is that, as an organizational psychologist and not a developer, I have had to put in double the effort to understand and apply blockchain technology and integrate it effectively into a platform that addresses a historical issue. This required me to find the best way to define how the platform could have a real social impact, be sustainable and self-financing, and provide value to its users.
My lack of technical experience created uncertainty about how to present a functional proposal that not only tackled the issue of the gender gap in technology but also offered a system that could be automatically funded and robust from the outset.
To overcome this obstacle, I relied on technology experts and the workshops offered by Base Latam, which allowed me to make more informed decisions. I focused on finding an agile path to add value to the contributors. The roadmap helped me prioritize which integrations to implement first, ensuring the platform grows gradually.
Lessons Learned: This challenge allowed me to combine my experience in organizational development and talent consulting with technology, balancing the social vision with economic sustainability.
