The problem SMART HOME AUTOMATION solves

A fully functional smart home with a lot of automatic features. Entry with face detection(may help in preventing theft). Automatic bulbs. Automatic doors. Counting number of people currently present in a room(may help in preventing theft). Automatic irrigation system(Low water wastage and efficient irrigation). Automatic garage door. Gas sensor to detect gas leakage. Automatic phone charge off. Earthquake detection. Notifications sent to android app. Can use android app to manually(or even use voice) do any of the above mentioned features.

Challenges I ran into

Connecting NodeMCU to every component was a huge task. Efficient implementation of the irrigation system was quite difficult as calliberating the amount of moisture actually required was a cumbersome task. The wiring was the biggest obstacle as there were a huge amount of wires and if not placed carefully might have cause a short circuit or may have stopped the entire connection system to collapse.
