The problem Scart: Scan and Shop solves
In the 21st century, nobody wants to waste time standing in queues.
Self-checkout is a modern and comfortable way to enhance the offline shopping experience. The fast transition towards cashless payments and the stigma of COVID-19 has accelerated the need for self-checkout.
We believe there isn't a version of the future in which something like this isn't commonplace
THE IDEA
Scart can be used at multiple stores and outlets.
With the help of SCART you don't have to stand in long billing queues. It promotes cashless payments and e-bill.
How it works:
- Search or locates stores in the app
- Create a shopping list to easily access while shopping
- It uses a barcode scanner to fetch details of the product and adds it to the cart
- The app uses Razorpay Order API for generating id for a particular order and Razorpay Payment Gateway for the transaction.
- The app is linked to a recommender system which suggests items that are frequently bought together with the product a person buys
- Pay using the app via multiple payment options.
- To prevent theft, the weight of all the items bought is confirmed at the exit gate
Benefits for stores:
- Subscription-based model for regular cash flow
- Listing expiry soon products on top to keep inventory updated
- More shelf space, less billing counters
How it's helpful:
- User friendly and easy to use UI (Minimalistic Design)
- No need to wait in billing lines.
- The benefit of window shopping.
- Reduce shopping time by almost half by directly checking out after picking an item from the shelf.
Great offers.
Challenges we ran into
The major challenge we anticipate is the integration of our server with the stores' server.
The next challenge would be customer acquisition as this is something that has rarely been explored in India, hence it would require in-store demonstrations to get people comfortable with this technology.
