The problem PageDAO Secure Crosschain Docs solves

There are tons of ways to gate content, and almost all of them rely on external web2 servers to stay online. This creates a centralized point of failure. In the last two years, many authors have created protected content using services that no longer exist, and users have lost access to those assets. Our system uses all open-source technology to create encrypted documents stored on IPFS with key storage on Secret Network's trusted execution environment. The documents can be retrieved using contracts on Polygon and messages passed through Axelar GMP to be verified with Secret Network contracts.

This solution opens many potential use cases for an open platform for book collection, trading, and lending across ecosystems and has the capacity to onboard many Web2 users interested in content and it's availability.

Challenges we ran into

We worked very hard to integrate a Web3-based CMS to handle document projects in-progress. This is an ambitious part of our platform designed to support multi-collaborator creativity and easier management of asset creation. Our team ran into some hurdles with full integration between our web3auth platform dynamic.xyz and our CMS of choice, Strapi. The best solution we could come up with was to scrap the CMS and keep project data close to the user profile stored in dynamic. This cuts out the future functionality but allows us to focus on the core of our offering, getting documents on-chain.

A second hurdle we faced was with the sheer newness of using Secret's Privacy-as-a-Service. To get over this hurdle, we reached out to other devs who had expertise in CosmWasm development and were on-site to participate in the hackathon. We picked apart some sample code and got it running locally to test the end-to-end integration.
