The problem IKAI solves

Document and media handling is one of the most common tasks that phones are used for. With the ban
on Chinese apps, the front-runners of this section, i.e. SHAREit, Xender, and CamScanner, were
thrown out of the race in the Indian market.

The need of the hour is an indigenous app that is not only a worthy replacement but also an improvement over these applications, which had some serious security flaws.

Our project, ikai is developed keeping all this in mind. It is designed to be a one-stop solution for all
file editing and sharing problems. You can now scan, edit, share, and discuss on the go. With security
as our prime motive, the app allows fast and secure file transfers in both online and offline modes
along with an end-to-end encrypted chat to discuss the shared media. The files you share go straight
from the sender to the receiver thus providing a truly secure pathway to share files.

Challenges we ran into

The 10-day development phase proved to be an immense learning experience for all of us. To
implement the features, we had to constantly research about various things, make minor
adjustments, and face various other hurdles. We helped each other to overcome all these issues
as a team, and are happy to have realized most of our initial ideas, along with few newer ones.
