The most frequent reason for a misdiagnosis of a neuro or brain related disease is that the doctors frequently diagnose and recommend treatment for another sickness because the symptoms frequently resemble those of other widespread disorders. Talking specifically about Alzheimer’s Disease(AD), World Health Organization(WHO) states that Alzheimer's disease is the most prevalent type of dementia and is one of the primary causes of disability and dependency among people, * ranking seventh among all diseases in terms of cause of mortality *. There are currently estimated to be over 55million people(about twice the population of Texas) worldwide living with dementia. Already 60% of people with dementia live in low and middle income countries, but by 2050 this will rise to 71% . Although the problem is so serious, there are very few treatments available. In 1906, the first case of Alzheimer’s was diagnosed medically and * today after 116 years, we have only 3-4 treatments available which are not really successful in treating the later stage of AD. * The reason behind this problem is, there are very few cases diagnosed compared to the number of people affected. Our parents, grandparents or even ourselves after a certain age might get AD and confuse it with old age problems.
Our solution is meant towards solving the issue of misdiagnosis of various brain diseases by helping in the early detection and diagnosis of neuro diseases, providing the doctor with a more precise view on the scan and medical test results. The current prototype is based on detecting AD at an early stage so that it can be cured with the available treatments which have proven results in treating AD at an early stage. Our AI model uses * MRI as input and uses inceptionv3, a CNN based model to detect the underlying biological cause of Alzheimer's. * In the future upgrades, this can turn out to be an ecosystem for all neuro related diseases.
