The problem DrivePro solves

We, as Team Codedemigods, are concentrating on the pothole issue.

  • Although potholes may just appear like little annoyances, they have a big effect on driving experiences and road safety. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) estimates that accidents brought on by potholes and cracks in the road account for 15% of road-related deaths.
  • Shockingly, over 5,000 people lost their lives in road accidents attributed to potholes need to be fixed , as shown by this worrying trend. According to recent NDTV data, pothole-related fatalities have increased by 25%, with 1,481 fatalities in 2021 and 1,856 fatalities in 2022 in India alone.
  • Beyond the safety aspect, reducing potholes also improves the overall driving experience.Hence we present this solution DrivePro.

Challenges we ran into

Difficulties We Faced

We had a number of difficulties while working on this project that put our abilities to the test. The following list of challenges we encountered and how we overcome them:

  1. Model Training: One of the main difficulties we ran into was getting the machine learning model for pothole identification to work properly. It took us a long time and a lot of work to grasp the ideas and methods needed for model training because we were not initially skilled in machine learning.

  2. Mid-Evaluation Feedback: The judges gave insightful input at the mid-evaluation, recommending that we concentrate on integrating webhooks as a means of advancement. It was difficult to incorporate this functionality because it meant rearranging several of our project's components. Nonetheless, we allocated more resources because we understood how important this input was.

  3. Brainstorming on Rewards: Coming up with appropriate prizes for users who assist in reporting potholes was another difficulty we encountered. We faced a challenge in coming up with rewardsthat are both realistic and feasible. However, we were able to create a rewards system that supports user participation and is in line with our project aims through brainstorming and research.

We're happy with our development and the solutions we've put in place despite these obstacles. Every challenge offered a chance for us to think and improve regardless of whatever the result be we are happy with our effort!
