Mental and emotional health is a very underrated aspect of wellbeing. Journaling is one powerful way of keeping our lives balanced and in check. Existing digital journals have a long workflow of adding your sentiments and actions before you can begin to type. On the other hand, note-taking apps like Google Keep have mastered the flow of getting their users to type as freely as possible.
Our application uses your note-taking app of choice (for now, Keep) as a base upon which to build a journal. We analyze notes that you give us access to and give you insights into what's been going on in your life. How positive your attitude has been, what events have impacted your life, and so on.
The aim is that the users going through a tough time get some clarity into their mental and emotional state.
One of the insights we wanted to offer was to build relationships between entities mentioned in the users' musings, and their emotional wellbeing. For example, if you've frequently mentioned a person or thing in notes our system classified as negative. We wanted to identify the relation between the two and present them. Although NLP is fairly well documented, this was something unique and we had to develop a way to find those relations on our own.
