Cryptonite AI

A hackathon-winning project that utilizes machine learning to analyze and cross-reference data from the NVD Database, delivering clear insights through a user-friendly web application.

The problem Cryptonite AI solves

  1. Target Users: Business owners and startup founders can easily use this application by uploading a list of technologies utilized in their business or idea in user-friendly formats like JSON, XML, or other widely supported formats.

  2. Simplifying Processes: Previously, business and startup owners relied on their technical teams for regular comprehensive checks due to the presence of sensitive user data on their servers. Our application streamlines this workflow by providing insights into the potential vulnerabilities of their products regarding cyber-attacks.

  3. Regular Updates: The application is automatically updated every three hours with data from the National Vulnerability Database, ensuring users receive the latest information!

Challenges I ran into

Initially, we encountered a significant challenge in integrating a Python-based back end with a fully JavaScript front end, as this was our first hackathon project and our entry into the hackathon scene. Additionally, we faced difficulties in transferring easily processable data from the Python machine learning model to the front end for display purposes.

We struggled with this for a while, but eventually, we discovered that establishing clear specifications for both the web development team and the Python ML model team was the key to overcoming these issues. This approach allowed us to collaborate effectively while also enabling us to work independently, as we had a framework to guide our efforts. It proved to be a valuable strategy that fostered our growth as a team!
