Song competition - Powered by BASE, distribute to ZORA main and secondary markets, cleared by MESA.

Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

MESA is co-founded by Andres Botero, born in Venezuela and raised in Colombia. At MESA we believe that a strong creator class in Latin America is the most powerful way to tackle endemic problems for the youth, like violent association with crime and lack of opportunities and jobs.

What challenges are you focusing on?

Our challenge is to create succesful processes and stories that help drive the narrative of re-valuing music and the arts. There are strong paradigms that keep artists submitted to gate keeping of mayor distribution channels. Value needs to be free.
We believe that it will be emerging artists the ones who breakthrough using new web 3 technologies, will change the narrative on how to access new markets, with new models for sustainable living income, funding and growth. BASE helps making releasing music onchain affordable.

How does your submission address this challenge?

We want to help more Latam artists live the experience of releasing music succesfully onchain, understanding the challenges and rewards while they go through hands-on processes. From 0 - 1.

Challenges I ran into

We came late to the hackathon submission. However, this has been a good excercise for the MESA team to prove that we can put together an idea, assemble a team and deliver in a short period of time. The team working on this project is not the core MESA team, we have paired up with new devs and Crypto Musica Records and brought them on for this project with the hopes of growing our team after succesfully workimg together.

We pulled it off :)

Additional Features

MESA was started during the summer buildathon via a builder grant. After the close of the buoldathion we have:

  • Wrapped up Based in Colombia
  • Redesigned UI
  • Implemented splits
  • Distribution to Zora and Sound
  • Free modular contract builder for IP
  • Drop your Demo contest and interface
