Why are you participating for Based SEA?

We are a team from Thailand, and we see immense potential in Southeast Asia's growing crypto industry.

The region is becoming a global crypto hub, with events like Devcon coming to Bangkok and the rise of the Moo Deng meme reflecting our vibrant crypto culture.

Our motivation is to contribute to this growth by creating solutions that solve real-world problems in our community.

Coinbase Smart Passport enhances trust and simplifies payments, two key challenges for crypto adoption in our region.

What challenges are you focusing on?

Our project focuses on two major challenges: trust in decentralized applications (dApps) and seamless recurring payments onchain.

Many users in SEA are hesitant to use dApps due to concerns about identity verification and security.
Additionally, onchain systems lack efficient recurring payment solutions for services like ENS, which limits their utility in day-to-day transactions.

Our project enhances the Coinbase Smart Wallet by integrating it with various identity platforms including ENS, Coinbase ID (cb.id), Gitcoin Passport, and Coinbase KYC Verification, as well as social accounts like Twitter, Discord, and GitHub. This integration makes onboarding easier and boosts trust in the Coinbase Smart Wallet. DApps can use this data to verify the trustworthiness of a particular smart wallet.

For payment problems, services like ENS require manual yearly payments of $5 without automatic renewal reminders via email or SMS. Users must remember the expiration dates and manually renew their domains. As a result, many users lose their domain names due to forgetfulness.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Coinbase Smart Passport addresses trust issues by integrating with decentralized identity providers like ENS and Gitcoin Passport, ensuring users can verify their identities securely. For recurring payments, we have integrated Stripe to offer automatic payment solutions, making it easier for users to pay for onchain services without missing due dates. This solution enhances user trust and ensures continuous access to critical services like ENS, which is crucial for the growing SEA crypto community.

Additional Features

We focused on enhancing the user experience by improving the recurring payment integration. However, due to technical issues, we have not yet been able to fully connect with Base Name. Our team is currently working to resolve these challenges to ensure smooth functionality in the future.
