Move, Master, Monetize

The problem Chess Forge solves

1.Fairness Over Chance: Many digital asset games rely on luck or chance. Our platform is purely skill-based, ensuring that rewards stem from strategic excellence rather than randomness.
2. Monetization of Skill: Traditional chess rewards only the final outcome, not the quality of individual moves. Our system transforms each move into a dynamic asset, enabling players to earn from their strategic prowess.

  1. Dynamic Valuation: Fixed piece values limit gameplay depth. By updating SFT values in real time based on move quality, we create a market-driven model that accurately reflects a player's performance.
  2. Bridging Traditional and Digital: We merge classic chess with cutting-edge blockchain technology, offering a seamless transition from conventional gameplay to a modern, monetizable digital ecosystem.
  3. Transparency and Trust: Leveraging advanced mathematics and game theory, our valuation mechanism provides transparent, objective assessments of move quality, ensuring trust and fairness. It can be further read in the whitepaper that we provided.
  4. New Revenue Streams: By converting chess moves into tangible digital assets, we open up transformative opportunities for competitive chess players to generate real income from their gameplay.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Real-Time Communication (Sockets):
    • Challenge: Ensuring low-latency, real-time updates across all players.
    • Solution: Integrated Socket.io with a dedicated abstraction layer to decouple socket management from core game logic, improving scalability and maintainability.
  2. Software Abstraction:
    • Challenge: Managing a complex system involving real-time game mechanics, blockchain integration, and AI.
    • Solution: Adopted modular design patterns to isolate business logic, allowing parallel development of game logic, SFT minting, and UI components.
  3. NFT Minting & Batch Updates:
    • Challenge: Updating the valuation of multiple SFT chess pieces without incurring high transaction costs.
    • Solution: Developed smart contracts, auditted them heavily
  4. AI Image Generation (LoRA Training):
    • Challenge: Generating consistent, high-quality artwork for NFT chess pieces.
    • Solution: Fine-tuned a LoRA-based model using a curated dataset and iterative training, achieving visually appealing and brand-consistent AI-generated images.
