Automatic Sanitizer Dispenser

An automatic Dispenser that uses an IR sensor to detect the presence of our hand and dispenses sanitizer into it, so that spreading of bacteria and viruses due to physical contact with the sanitizer.

The problem Automatic Sanitizer Dispenser solves

Equipment used:
TIP32C PNP transistor, Proximity (IR) sensor, mini submersible water pump, USB cable, 1K ohm resistor(1).

Working:
As soon as the IR rays transmitted are blocked/hits a physical object close to it( distance from the sensor/range of the sensor can be adjusted), it reflects back the rays that's received by the receiver within the sensor. The sensor sends a signal to the base of the transistor. This induces the flow of collector current from the transistor through the collector terminal, which is connected to the motor inside the water pump. The motor starts to rotate hence making the pump to push out the sanitizer out of the bottle in which the pump is kept submerged, through a tube and the sanitizer is dispensed to our hands. All components are powered through USB.
