A Glance at Warpspeed 2023: A GenAI Hackathon
We had a phenomenal time partnering with Lightspeed India on their Warpspeed: GenAI Hackathon. It was an exhilarating event where passionate minds gathered to tinker, collaborate, and build together. The stage was set for a truly transformative experience, and Warpspeed delivered beyond expectations.
Applicants across professions showed their interest in the hackathon. We invited developers, designers, and product enthusiasts (even doctors!) to participate at Warpspeed! From a pool of 2000+ applicants, we invited over 110 builders to join us and build at the hackathon.
Warpspeed 2023 had a great line-up of bounties totalling to $12,000+ in cash prizes and $18000+ in credits from Lightspeed, Google, ETHIndia, AWS, Replit, and Microsoft!
Hackathon Kick-Off!
Dev Khare (Partner, Lightspeed), along with Hemant Mohapatra (Partner, Lightspeed) kicked off the event on a high note!
This was followed by a keynote from Amjad Masad (Founder, Replit), and that’s not it. There was a line-up of many other notable speakers as well, guiding and planting innovative ideas for the participants:
- Vinayak Hegde (CTO-in-residence, Microsoft for Start-ups)
- Rohit Agarwal (Co-founder, Portkey.ai)
- Dheeraj Pandey (Co-founder & CEO, DevRev)
And right after our partners announced their track prizes, the builders got right to setting up their systems, initializing their repositories, and cherry-picking their node modules, all in preparation to hack for the next 24 hours.
Those 24 hours were locked and loaded with mentorship hours, feedback sessions, fireside chats, and so much more!
As our builders also needed a break from coding, we arranged some fun activities to recharge them before they resumed until the final stretch! We invited everyone to sit down with their favourite companion ‘Keyboards’ and race for the most words per minute, with the winners getting smart speakers and cool stickers as rewards.
🏆 Champions of the Champions!
After considering the impressive skills and exceptional projects showcased at the hackathon, the selection process for determining the outcome was undoubtedly very challenging for the jury. However, after careful deliberation, the judges and our team managed to come down to the top three teams.
