Vaccine storage and transportation for immunization providers. The cold chain is the part of vaccine shipment and the cold chain is the process used to maintain required temperatures for vaccines. All vaccines must be stored within the +2°C to +8°C temperature range at all times during storage or transport, from the point of manufacture through to the point they are administered to an individual. Vaccines can become less effective or be destroyed if they are:
- stored outside the +2°C to +8°C range
- exposed to sun or fluorescent light.
Temperatures above 8°C have a cumulative effect on the potency and stability of the vaccines, so it is important to advise your immunization coordinator of any cold chain breaches. The immunization coordinators have access to thermostability data for vaccines. However, when the temperature exposures are significant or occur over an extended period, the immunization coordinator will need to get further information from the vaccine manufacturer.
To resolve this, We have invented VACCIBLOCK, AN IOT ENABLED CONTAINER TO MONITOR STORAGE CONDITIONS OF VACCINES AND TAMPER-PROOF TRANSPORTATION, USING BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY. The application architecture has a web interface that monitors real-time data from sensors (light, temperature and seal pack) deployed in the IoT Container(Cold Fridge) and a smart contract to facilitate, verify, or enforce the negotiation or performance of a contract. The real-time data is processing on MQTT Server, It generates the data of the current condition of vaccines if any changes occurred like rising in temperature or exposed in the light. The whole batch will discard, the transaction will be refunded and not processed.
It has primary features like:
- Tamper-proof IoT container using Smart Contracts
- Temperature and Light Detection to prevent decomposition of vaccines by sending alerts.
- Specialized pressure sensor tape for the sudden opening of a container (illegal vaccine change)
We have faced many challenges while integrating Blockchain with IoT sensors. It was a long process of implementing Blockchain-based features.
