The streaming services such as Netflix are able to provide amazing contents for consumer entertainment but due to high subscription cost people usually avoid buying such subscriptions. To ease this cost these streaming services provide sharing based plans on which multiple users are able to use a single subscription at the same time. However, major problem with this is finding such people who are ready to share subscription and trustworthy enough. Thus our Stream Share project works on resolving this issue, by connecting people who are intrested in buying similar services in collaboration. Also users have ratings based on their previous interaction with other users which helps a user identify if it is safe to share membership with that person.
One of the major problem we come across is the scalability of this project. Since being a social network, it is expected to get higher traffic, But in our project while recommending people with similar requirements we need to go through every user who is intrested in that. This means for a million user everyone needs be accessed atleast once, but this slows down the whole process. We are planning to use a recommendation system using suitable machine learning algoithms.
