To automate the eyedrops instilling process which is usually done by nurse.
To reduce the dependency of patients on nurses.
To reduce the chances of error in the eyedrop instillation process compared to a nurse.
To reduce the workload of nurses.
To prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
To isolate the patient as much as possible.
The main challenge was to develop a feasible mechanism which can do the job of eye drops instillation satisfactorily. The toughest part was to develop the instilling head mechanism which fortunately works quite nicely.
To ensure maximum safety of the patient while autonomous instillation process, especially designing the eye protector.
To make a mechanism for picking a bottle from 72 eye drops bottles and loading it to the instilling head. (I have developed a concept but unfortunately could not make design of this mechanism due to time constraints and exams.)
