The problem Helping Hand solves
Current estimates are that nearly 690 million people are hungry, or 8.9 percent of the world population. Over 20 crore Indians go to sleep empty-stomach every day. Also, According to a UN report which said that household food waste in India is estimate to 50 kg per capita per year, or 68.7 million tonnes a year. This project 'Helping Hand' provide a solution which will help in solve these two major problems simultaneously. Every household in the world will always have some leftover/remaining food. And most of these ends up in garbage the next day, either it will be due to extra cooking or ordering large amounts of food that you are unable to consume on the same day or you don't like the taste of the food, hence you decide to throw it. We are providing a platform to list these food items and deliver it to the people who needed it the most. So, instead of wasting the food, It can be provided to the people who needs it most i.e. the people living on streets and are starving everyday. By this eventually we can move towards the goal of 'ZERO HUNGER', also reducing food wastage at the same time.
Challenges we ran into
We have faced problem while adding google authentication in our project. But we eventually figured it out by constant debugging and founded the core of the problem. We also faced issue with uploading an 'image' file to the backend and using it on the frontend, we were not able to figure out what data to send from frontend and what to expect at the backend. But with constant searching on the internet we were able to find a solution for it. So, we first try this on our backend with the help of Postman and after getting successful outputs, we implemented on the front-end and our image uploading and reliving process started working smoothly. Our Most of our problems were solved by searching about it over the internet, reading various articles, documentations, etc. And we also took help of our seniors at some point.
