One of our teammates resides in Nallasopara and regularly witnesses small children and adults asking for food or money. She noticed an undernourished toddler seeking for food while going around her neighbourhood. She assisted the toddler that day, but later realised, "I assisted that boy today to sleep with a full stomach, but I can't assist him every day." This isn't only in Nallasopara; it's seen everywhere. We were intrigued by her ideas and decided to create a website that would assist people in discovering local NGOs, Community fridges, and collectors.
We sincerely hope that we were able to make even a modest contribution to the fight against hunger.
(1) The first issue we ran into was figuring out how to display the locations of community refrigerators, so we approached our mentor for help, and she came up with the brilliant idea of using API.
(2) The next issue we encountered was finding a search bar where individuals could learn about surrounding areas and find collectors, which we were able to address by viewing YouTube tutorials.
We're considering integrating callbacks and sending emails to everyone who signs up to donate food, either to educate them about the locations or to ask them what kind of food they're providing. And we can publicise this by using social media platforms for advertising, resulting in a large number of people joining the fight against hunger and rapid transformation.
