The problem Zupeer solves

We are here to solve a vital mentoring problem typical for Hackathons.

For Hackers/Teams:
• Requesting and getting Mentor support can take a long time.
• Hard to know upfront if a Mentor has the skills to help with a request.
• Imposter Syndrome (feeling the problem is not important enough to ask for help)
• Not enough mentors available.

For Mentors:
• Most famous Mentors are sought out disproportionately more and overburdened
• Mentors cannot keep track of questions that have been answered and/or solved

Why is the Telegram Channel Not Good Enough?
• Unsorted feed
• Unclear questions status
• Multiple places to ask questions
• Unknown which mentor is available

Our goal is to remove the barriers standing in the way of bringing mentors and hackers together in a quick and convenient way to fully maximize the potential of their project and hacking experience.

The Solution
• Allow anyone to become a mentor and provide support to their peers.
• A reputation system rewards mentors for their contributions.
• Using Zupass to seamlessly connect participants.
• Hackers can see a list of Mentors with skills in profiles.

Provides an integrated platform that can be used at future hackathons, serving as a first stop for hackers to post questions and receive responses and help on individual requests. The mentors, on the other side, can view where they are needed most and coordinate accordingly.

Challenges we ran into

• Defining the scope of the project to a manageable size.
• Understanding the Zupass workflow and integrating it in our app.
• Talking to people who have worked on this technology helped us to overcome these.
• We hope that Zupeer will help to save a lot of time for such challenges in the future. :)
