zkVerify x Galxe Identity Protocol
Integrate zkVerify in Galxe Identity Protocol to significantly reduce verification costs without sacrificing security
The problem zkVerify x Galxe Identity Protocol solves
Users can start from our sample code to integrate their Galxe Identity Protocol-based applications with zkVerify.
Assessed that zkVerify can reduce proof verification costs by >90% compared to native verification on Ethereum, at Galxe's scale, this translates to a significant costs dropping - a transformation that could generate millions in savings annually.
Beyond pure cost reduction, this integration opens new possibilities for Web3 identity management. With around 1 million users actively using Galxe Passport, cheaper verification enables more frequent credential checks, enhanced privacy features, and broader accessibility to trustless credential systems for smaller projects.
Challenges we ran into
We have interacted with the zkVerify blockchain, and our feedback is as follows:
- outdated documentation in some places(e.g. link page including faucet link)
- difficulties in using supported wallets
- blockexplorer not always working
We mainly interacted with two packages:
- zkVerifyjs: a package used to interact with the modular zkVerify blockchain. There were no problems using it and the documentation provided was clear. The development team was helpful and quick to provide us with explanations or suggestions.
- @galxe-identity-protocol/sdk: package used to manage credentials, unfortunately it was not possible to use it directly as some dependencies was broken within it. Furthermore, the package was not installable on Windows.
To remedy this, we decided to fork the repository and build again.
The development team was willing to listen to us, but they were unable to solve the reported problems in the short time available.
