Bring Calm to Your Calendar

The problem ZenSched solves

The problem it solves

Modern calendars are good at storing events, but terrible at protecting wellbeing. People often stack meetings back-to-back, forget to block focus time, and only realize they’re overloaded when stress already hits. Managers and HR teams also lack visibility into how dense employees’ schedules really are — making it harder to prevent burnout before it happens.

The average knowledge worker spends ~18–23 hours per week in meetings (Microsoft & Atlassian research).

70% of employees say their calendars are too packed to allow for deep focus (Asana Work Index, 2023).

Burnout affects nearly 60% of employees globally (Gallup, 2023).

Lack of recovery time between meetings increases stress by up to 40% (Microsoft Human Factors Lab, 2022).

Managers and HR often lack visibility into workload trends, making it harder to spot early signs of burnout.

ZenSched solves this by:

Giving individuals a “workload index” view of their day, so they can instantly see how busy (or balanced) it is.

Offering AI-powered wellness recommendations, like when to insert breaks or focus blocks.

Providing HR with a team wellness dashboard, helping spot trends of overload early — safely and respectfully.

Making calendar use not just about productivity, but about sustainable, healthy work patterns.

Pls. note that Loom didn’t record the voice summary properly so you can only hear a bit of it clearly! Try using the app for clarity 😊

Challenges I ran into

One challenge definitely was: managing the calendar synchronization state. Aggressive polling definitely resulted in unnecessary network requests. I solved it by conditional polling which was running the sync operation only when the tab was visible.
