The problem Zelus solves
Imagine a scenario, where you are an avid buyer of burgers from a fast food place with a deep aversion to pizzas! As a token of appreciation, the store decided to give you a coupon for 500 free pizzas….
Yes, you would wish to have had something better for your loyalty and someone else wished they had a coupon for buying 500 pizzas at the price of 400!
That's what we are here to solve.
After talking to a bunch of people experienced in marketing and business, we came to know that the average redemption rate of coupons is around 10% which hurts a company’s effort to earn their customer's loyalty and drive traffic towards their products.
In another scenario, A husband decides to do a lot of shopping for his wife, crossing the loyalty program threshold of the company. He receives a coupon for a day of assisted shopping and other benefits he isn't interested in. Normally he would just let the coupon expire as it was issued in his name and no one else could redeem it. But with us, he can exchange the coupon for SOLs with us and a user who is interested in experiencing the assisted shopping, can get it from us. It helped the husband, the other person, the company with a potential new customer and some royalty.
People also get to customize their Avatars with the NFTs they recievve!
In a meta universe where the avatars which are NFTs them selves can equip the nfts they receive. For example a coupon can redeem a Fedora hat in real life. The same NFT can be equipped by your avatar too!
As I have used flutter for the frontend, It can be run on any device. From iOS to Android, and Web to MacOs.
Our target audience being new to crypto, I am trying to keep the UI as clean as possible.
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge I faced in this hackathon was last night. When I discovered Quicnode has put the IPFS storage behind a paywall. Using Flutter leaves me with fewer choices as it is fairly new with support in the early stages. So setting up the marketplace is still a WIP. I discovered CandyMachine in the process. It was a challenge to set it up too but it helped in the minting process.
Though Solana has done a really great job with the Flutter SDK, a better documentation is still desired.
