The problem Yogdaan solves

Problem Statement:

Whenever there's a crisis situation, many people realize that they need to make donations. However, not all of them are rich in liquid cash. In fact, some of them are richer with time, fame, and services than money.

The problem is people cannot donate their time, fame, or services to help those in need.

But what if they could❓

Solution: A platform that accepts assets in any form, converts them into money & transfers them to verified NGOs.

Assets accepted: Money (multiple currencies), Time, Fame, and Services

User flow:

  • People who want to donate -

    • Money:
Can use their Credit or Debit cards to make cross-border donations directly to the verified NGOs account
    • Services and Time:
    1. Can list their services on the platform with an amount, price, slots, etc.
    2. Another user, called Cash Donor, who donates money for 5x more than the quoted price is eligible for the services.
    3. Once the Cash Donor accepts service, the service provider needs to serve them.
    • Fame:
This is primarily for celebrities of an area, town, or state. Such people are quite high in demand but always out of reach for a one-to-one chat.

They can ask other people to make donations and apply to have a one-to-one with them. After some time, a random donor would be selected to meet them.

  • People who need donations -
We give all the cash to verified NGOs who solve the problem of distribution better than us.

Challenges I ran into

Sales Challenges

I talked to two different NGO co-founders regarding onboarding them for the Yogdaan platform.

  1. Small and mid-size NGOs fear accepting donations in cUSD. They fear the government saying against the blockchain.
  2. Explaining the tech to non-tech people, making sure that they know the bare minimum what and why of blockchain.

Technical Challenges

  1. I was using Transak for my on-ramp system but it lacks documentation and there's almost zero community support at the moment. I'm unable to make it work till now :(
  2. The project had many features at first and was challenging for a blockchain rookie like me. Also, I wanted to become customer-first and not tech-first so, I removed a lot of features for the first public beta version. I plan to iterate from customer's feedback.
