From unverified crisis reports to verified, human-

The problem CrisisRoute AI solves

During a crisis, information spreads faster than it can be verified. A single message may contain a real emergency, incomplete location data, duplicated reports, or misleading information. Traditional AI chatbots can summarize these reports, but they do not provide a structured way to separate truth, urgency, and actionability before real-world action is taken.

CrisisRoute AI turns unverified crisis reports or public URLs into an evidence-backed verification workflow. It extracts claims, evaluates a Truth / Verification Score, Urgency, and Actionability, and sends the same evidence independently to two Gonka-hosted AI models for blind cross-verification.

Deterministic safety gates then check critical conditions such as medical risk, location, contact availability, resource availability, and model disagreement. High urgency does not automatically authorize dispatch — a human operator must review the case and record the final decision.

This allows crisis teams to respond quickly without confusing “urgent” with “safe to act.”

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was designing a crisis verification system that remains useful even when information is incomplete. In real emergencies, low verification cannot automatically mean low priority, because an unverified report may still describe a life-threatening situation.

We therefore separated the decision into three dimensions: Truth / Verification, Urgency, and Actionability, instead of relying on one confidence score.

We also faced practical integration challenges while working with the Gonka Router, including model compatibility, response-format differences, output truncation, request timeouts, and temporary upstream 502 errors. We added strict schema validation, safer parsing, bounded timeouts, replay support, and transparent failure states without silently fabricating model results.

Another challenge was preventing AI recommendations from becoming unsafe actions. We solved this with deterministic safety gates and a mandatory Human Decision step. CrisisRoute AI records the decision and creates a tamper-evident local Proof Capsule, but never claims that a real-world action was executed.
