xString is a SocialFi platform based on Twitter and Base Chain, where KOLs and Twitter users can connect and interact onchain leveraging our innovative SRT(soul resonance token) standard.

The problem xString solves

  1. Inapplicability of Soulbound tokens (SBT): Tied to the core identity of contributors, SBT is non-transferable, and the non-transferrable nature is further underpinned by its inability to be traded. While they are useful for identity management, they remain highly conceptual and have not seen wide adoption or driving use cases. xString makes SBT applicable in the Social space by imbuing SRT, a token standard where users can issue non-transferrable yet tradable SRTs tied to their identity, into Web2 social experience.
  2. Flawed Web3 KOL dynamic: Web3 KOL marketing is mostly on Twitter but is plagued by botted followers and monetary-based incentives that do not reward creativity or growth. xString addresses this by changing the dynamic on a soul level. In xString, KOLs interact with and grow followers via SRT. When followers hold a KOL's SRT, their souls resonate, meaning their relationship is linked to a wallet or account. More SRT holders increase its value, reflecting the KOL’s reach, influence, and personal creditworthiness. Before launching bonding-curve based SRT tokens, KOLs can use Quest to require a Twitter follow to obtain SRT, fostering real and sustainable growth for their follower base.
  3. Unengaging onboarding with potential financial risks: One of the major hurdles to crypto onboarding is that it is often unengaging, expensive, and requires purchasing tokens upfront. xString provides an open lottery system for users to participate and draw SRTs launched by KOLs right on X(Twitter), eliminating the need to download additional apps or make significant financial commitments. Even if users lose, the fee will be returned, and they will receive Points instead. The entire process is straightforward, engaging, and enjoyable for users to participate in, with zero financial loss.

Challenges we ran into

  1. SRT: Balancing SBT Non-Transferable Nature with ERC20 Tradability
Finding a balance that enabled dynamic pricing and trading of SRTs without compromising their non-transferable nature was a key challenge. Traditional SBTs preserve reputation integrity but are non-tradable. We leveraged innovative bonding curves, allowing us to implement mint() and burn() methods, ensuring SRTs remain bound to the original account but can be traded on decentralized exchanges. This preserved the token's integrity while adding flexibility.
  2. Algorithm Complexity
Designing an effective bonding curve algorithm to support dynamic pricing and supply of SRTs requires precise mathematical operations. To create an ideal and realistically applicable pricing curve that encourages participation and quantifies the value of connections between KOLs and participants, we collaborated with actuaries to ensure the curve is optimized with the best efficiency.
  3. Compatibility with X(Twitter)
xString plug-in leverages Twitter for engagement, but Twitter’s frequent API and security updates caused disruptions in our app’s functionality. We implemented regular API monitoring, automated testing, and modular code architecture to adapt to changes and maintain compatibility quickly.
  4. App Performance Issues Due to High Data Request Volume
High data request volumes would degrade xString system performance and user onboarding experience. To solve this, developer tools like Eruda are used to analyze and identify performance issues. Optimizations included reducing request frequency, implementing caching, and using asynchronous processing.
