But don’t petition websites exist already?

Well they, but they have 3 major issues:

• Duplicate signatures: Petition websites have a serious problem of duplicate signatures, as they do not ask the users to verify their email-IDs, thus allowing to multiple signatures by the same user.
• Data exploitation: Websites like change.org have terms and conditions which provide them the rights to use and transfer the data to third parties, and can thus be used to malicious socio-political purposes.
• Mobilisations mechanisms: Similar websites lack ways to create means to mobilise support apart from simple sharing on social media.

• We’ve made login using MetaMask wallets mandatory, to minimise duplicate signatures without having to use email IDs.
• We’re storing our data in decentralised manner on IPFS/Filecoin which reduces the points of data vulnerability, and we have a strict policy against data sharing with 3rd party data sharing.
• As a flagship feature, we incentivise supporters using NFT based awards. Users get a unique NFT on every petition they sign, and get upgraded to higher tiers with better benefits like name on the petition page and a call/chat with the petitioner.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into:
Our team isn't that experienced with web3, so it took us a while to integrate the metamask login functionality.
We were working first time on Polygon and Filecoin, so we had to manually change the default network of goerli to polygon, and for NFTs, we are using Filecoin to store the images.
Minting an NFT from Filecoin IPFS and transferring it to the user's wallet.
Due to the shortage of time, we couldn’t implement tier-based NFT rewards.
