Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

W.A.R. has a direct connection with the LATAM region, especially in rural and biodiverse areas where animal protection and traceability is essential. Our participation in Base LATAM allows us to scale our solution regionally, improving the identification and care of animals in rural and urban areas, contributing to improving animal safety and wildlife protection, as well as preventing animal trafficking and abuse. The adoption of blockchain technology in our region is vital to address the challenges of transparency and traceability, and Base offers us a reliable platform for this.

What challenges are you focusing on?

We focus on the following key challenges:

Animal protection: Improve the identification and traceability of pets and wild animals, helping to prevent trafficking and abandonment.

Technological innovation: Incorporate blockchain to create immutable records that ensure the identity and history of each animal.

Lack of traceability: We face the absence of a unified database that allows for the efficient recovery of lost or abused animals, affecting animal safety in LATAM.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Our W.A.R. solution addresses this challenge by using blockchain technology to offer a secure, decentralized and globally accessible animal traceability platform. By integrating with Base LATAM, we ensure that any transaction or record is verifiable, inviolable and accessible to authorities, veterinarians and owners. In addition, the creation of a collaborative network between users and animal welfare experts allows for greater protection and responsible adoption.

Challenges I ran into

We face challenges such as technological education of users and adoption of new technologies in rural communities. We also encounter regulatory barriers and resistance from institutions that do not yet understand the need for a technological solution for animal traceability. The lack of technological infrastructure in some rural areas is another challenge, making the adoption of blockchain technologies slower in certain regions.
