The Problem Wii-Secure Solves
Public Wi-Fi Risks:
Public and open Wi-Fi networks, such as those found in cafés, airports, and hotels, are vulnerable to security threats. Attackers can exploit these networks to intercept data, sniff packets, and steal sensitive information, including session credentials.
How Wii-Secure Makes Things Easier and Safer
Secure Public Wi-Fi Access:
Wii-Secure connects your device to a secure VPS, ensuring that your internet traffic is protected from potential threats on open or unsecured networks.
Traffic Encryption:
All data is encrypted as it travels through the VPS, making it nearly impossible for attackers to intercept or decode your information.
Advanced Packet Filtering:
The VPS uses a defined set of protocols and an ML model to analyze and filter packets, identifying and blocking potential attacks such as packet sniffing and session theft.
Seamless User Experience:
The client-side application automatically connects to the secure VPS, removing the need for manual network configuration and ensuring a hassle-free, secure browsing experience.
Enhanced Privacy Protection:
By routing traffic through a secure server and applying advanced security measures, Wii-Secure helps protect your personal information and online activities from prying eyes.
Wii-Secure simplifies the process of securing public Wi-Fi connections, making it easier for users to stay safe online without compromising convenience.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges We Ran Into
One of the major challenges we faced was accurate threat detection. Initially, we planned to use deep packet inspection for identifying malicious activities, but the accuracy of this method was far too low for our requirements.
To overcome this hurdle, we introduced Large Language Models (LLMs) into the detection pipeline. By leveraging their ability to process and analyze vast amounts of data, we were able to significantly improve the accuracy and effectiveness of the threat detection process. This shift allowed us to better classify potential attacks and enhance the overall security of the system.
