The problem whiteDAO solves

The Problem It Solves

  1. In Web3, lots of good people are building tools, platforms, and communities that help everyone. But most of these projects can’t find fair or lasting funding.
  2. Traditional investors often want control and profit, not public good. That makes it hard for open-source and community projects to stay true to their values.
  3. At the same time, many people in crypto hold stablecoins that just sit there doing nothing. That money could be working to help build the future.
  4. Builders end up wasting energy looking for small grants, while supporters have no simple way to back the work they believe in.

How whiteDAO Helps:

  1. whiteDAO makes it easy for anyone to take part in funding the future of Web3.
  2. You stake your USDC for a set time. Your funds stay safe, but the yield they earn goes straight to startups building for the public good.
  3. For every 1 USDC you stake, you get 1 vote in deciding which projects get supported.
  4. The whole system is transparent, fair, and fully community-owned. whiteDAO never keeps profits — every bit of yield goes to the builders.

In Simple Words, whiteDAO turns passive money into active support.
It gives everyday people a way to help real builders, shape where funds go, and grow the public Web3 ecosystem together.

Challenges I ran into

Limited documentation and developer resources for Octant v2
Since Octant v2 is still new, we had to spend time reverse-engineering contract flows and piecing together how its vault and yield routing system worked. This slowed down our development and required a lot of testing and trial runs.

Adapting Octant’s framework to fit whiteDAO’s model
Octant is designed mainly for straightforward yield-donation setups. Our DAO adds new logic like 1:1 staking shares, project-specific yield routing, and voting-based allocation — so we had to rework parts of Octant’s BaseStrategy and governance flow to fit this model.

Integrating Morpho as the yield source
Connecting Morpho’s V2 vault to Octant’s BaseStrategy layer was tricky. The systems use slightly different assumptions for yield reporting and redemption, so we had to carefully handle how the Morpho vault interacts with Octant’s yield accounting while keeping everything transparent and secure.

Testing cross-protocol interactions
Coordinating the flow between staking, yield generation, and on-chain voting required several iterations. Balancing simplicity with flexibility while staying compatible with both Octant and Morpho v2 was one of our biggest technical learning curves.
