The problem WeListen - Mental Treatment Made Easy solves
Problems
- According to WHO, India accounted for nearly 15 percent of global mental health.
- In India, the treatment gap (the number of people with an illness who need treatment but do not get it) is 70 to 92 percent, depending on the state.
- But poor awareness of mental health symptoms, social stigma, and lack of adequate resources and facilities stop people from getting the help they need.
Solution
- It lets users talk, share and express their emotions, feelings, and thoughts to experienced counselors who have volunteered to help people facing mental issues.
- This platform allows users to get help from counselors without disclosing personal information with our privacy first policy.
- It also provides the user a wide platform to share their experiences and learnings with all the people out there anonymously.
- There is an option for the user to pay a thank you token for the service they have received.
How do we stand out
Quality
There are many existing counseling places that provide privacy of user details (like name, email, etc.) but our website doesn’t even ask for any of us.
Implementation
- One-to-One Counselling: High-quality care at a fraction of the cost of traditional therapy
- Share Your Experiences: An open platform for all to share your candid emotions, experiences, and suggestions.
- Privacy First: WeListen provides a safe space for users to meet experts and audiences anonymously
UI/UX:- User-friendly (the entire website is made taking the user needs in mind)
- The color scheme of the product: calm colors along with exciting colors have been used to cheer up the mood of users.
- Limited clicks, text, and images for better UX.
Future Potential
We are binding clients and counselors together through the medium of our platform for which we are asking for optional token money that we will use for the building and maintenance of our website.
Sending illness reports by knowing patient symptoms to counselor and book slots
Challenges we ran into
Wallet
- As our main motive is to provide privacy and decentralization, we faced difficulty in connecting Solana web3.js authentication
as we connect javascript and typescript. But with the constant support of mentors and Solana docs, we were able to successfully integrate Solana by defining the web-pack and tsconfig files for special compilation.
Frontend
- We also face difficulty in integrating web sockets and for seamless and privacy first chat application but by designing the robust server using sockets and we are able to archive the seamless connection of chats.
UI/UX
- Deciding the appropriate color scheme according to user needs. Since our project is focusing on people with mental health we tried to use calm colors with full research.
- Used limited images to avoid lazy lagging for impatient users.
- Using limited texts for a better understanding of users.
