Welcome onchain solves the age-old problem of "where can i send my friends to help onboard them onchain?".

We have built this onto an existing project, which was previously known as pentacle.xyz.

During the hackathon we have:

• used the fabulous Blossom https://blossom.land infra to ease EAS & Privy integration – allowing people to sign in with Base and leave ratings and reviews for projects
• added chain ecosystem pages to help people explore projects if they are interested in a certain network
• changed the name and branding from Pentacle XYZ to Welcome onchain
• redesigned the layout of project pages for a more user-friendly experience
• added the ability to apply a featured project to any tag page simply by selecting a project relation in our cms

What's next

• building on the social aspects of Privy and EAS via Blossom – building out leaderboard and activity feed
• see which projects my friends and trusted people have rated/reviewed

Welcome onchain has an opensourced API

This allows other projects to use our extensive database of project information and educational material – and saves them having to re-create this data themselves. Third party projects just need to ask us for a token for free access – this helps us ensure our infra costs don't go crazy as we are currently self-funding. The Blossom EAS schemas are freely available for anyone to use.

Challenges I ran into

Yes the main hurdle was after watching the full induction livestream and then going to submit – I realised we weren't going to qualify for the discovery track as we didn't build these features out on fleek and I had not quite grokked that from the track in the initial livestream.

We felt comfortable switching to social as the intention for this is to grow to allow people to discover projects through trusted people's reviews, plus leaderboard and activity page (in development).
