Businesses across the world have taken a hit due to COVID 19 and most of the businesses are going online. In today's economic situation people tend to use e-services more than ever. People are even using social media platforms like Instagram to promote and sell their products.
So using a webster app we tend to help these businesses maintain a website without much inconvenience.

Normal Instagram Sales:

The Business owner/seller posts the product and its details.
The customer visits the Instagram page and if interested in a product he will contact the seller.
The deal is closed via Instagram chats.
Payment is made personally via a UPI id.

Webster is a service app that helps people to maintain a website for their business needs with just an Instagram account. Anyone with an Instagram account can download our app and register the account with us. The client can then advertise their products through their Instagram posts as usual and we scrape it from the profile of the client and generate a website with a template selected by the client. Every time the client updates his Instagram account with a new product it is automatically added to the website, and users can purchase it from the site.

Usually, if a user wants to build a website for their business, if they have a technical background then the process is somewhat smoother, but for a person with a less technical background, it is an extra burden on their shoulders. Also if the business is just budding or is on a smaller scale, then building a professional website and hosting is not affordable. In both these cases, Webster is an optimal solution

Challenges we ran into

Instagram API only provides the first image if we post the image as a batch. Because of this reason, we had to compromise with displaying only one image per product. We are looking for Instagram APIs with Access Token for better outputs.

We encountered many problems while working remotely with Github. Merging different branches led to Conflicts.

In the Flutter app, we faced problems while connecting to the Django backend. Uploading images required separate methodologies than conventional methods. This led to a lot of problems for which we found solutions.

We faced a lot of problems while designing the database for the system. We had to redesign some parts of the database to suit our needs. While implementing these designs, some constraints caused problems.
