The Web Crawler automates data extraction from websites, saving time and effort compared to manual methods. Its Go backend handles large-scale web crawling efficiently using concurrency, allowing quick and simultaneous data collection. The Svelte frontend offers a user-friendly interface for easy configuration and result management. This tool is ideal for market research, competitive analysis, and data-driven projects, improving efficiency and accuracy by automating repetitive tasks and minimizing errors.
One challenge I faced was managing concurrent web requests efficiently. Initially, the Go backend encountered rate-limiting issues and occasional timeouts when sending too many requests simultaneously. To resolve this, I implemented a rate limiter and adjusted concurrency controls to balance the load on the servers. Additionally, I used error handling and retry mechanisms to ensure the crawler could recover from temporary failures. These adjustments improved the crawler's reliability and performance, allowing it to handle large-scale data extraction more effectively.
