The problem WAVES: AI powered Marketplace For Beats solves

Music producers are responsible for some of the world's greatest hits, but they are often not paid what they are due.

They suffer from stolen beats, get into disputes with Artists who don't release songs on time and also have tons of beats sitting in their hard drives without being able to find the right people to buy the beats.

That's why we're building Waves. We believe the opportunity for Music in web3 is not just with music but especially with beats and sounds. We're on a mission to reward producers and sonic creators, the way the first NFT bull run rewarded graphic designers and artists.

We're combining web3 + AI to create a new way for producers to mint beats as NFTs to show ownership, and for users to use AI to generate lyrics to make it easier to buy these beats. In the future, we also want to add a way to bid for beats using lyrics, so producers know the best artist to sell their beats to. This makes it more of a match made in heaven, rather than the current experience of just giving your beats to anyone because they have the money for it.

Challenges we ran into

There are a lot of moving parts, that will get better with more funding as we fix more bugs. Particularly we found that submarining NFTs from the public node and making it private was difficult, migration from wallet to wallet-less system also proved complex but we'll be making this better as we raise.
