The problem Wastify solves

By creating an Android app powered by machine learning and data visualization, this solution provides an innovative way to address waste segregation, collection, and sanitization in urban areas. It offers residents a user-friendly and engaging platform to track their waste disposal habits while providing valuable insights through data visualization. This encourages sustainable waste management practices and equips urban areas with a powerful tool for efficient, cleaner, and more environmentally friendly living spaces. There will be three main portals :

  1. In the citizen portal, the features included are Dustbin location, Garbage van collection time, and Filing any complaints related to the city's Waste Management. The citizens are provided with wet and dry dustbin locations in the city.
  2. In the Driver portal the main feature is the startDuty, in the startDuty feature of the app the Driver has to upload the images of their garbage collection at every stop he has been assigned as a part of this duty, along with the image the location details is shared to the Database with Time and Date.
  3. In the Super-Admin portal, the Admin can access features like Monitoring Drivers, Citizen Complains, and Driver Leave applications. In Driver Monitoring, the admin can monitor the driver's location along with the time and date. Also, the admin can view CitizenComplains, and DriverLeaveApplications and try to solve Citizen Complains and approve/reject the Driver Leave Application on their own his/her own credit. combine this with the above .

Challenges we ran into

  1. Technological Integration: Integrating various technologies such as GPS, image uploading, and database management can be complex and require seamless compatibility.
  2. Compatibility: Ensuring that the app is compatible with a wide range of mobile devices and operating systems can be challenging, as users may have different hardware and software configurations.
  3. Data Accuracy and Integrity: Managing data accuracy and integrity is crucial, as incorrect or fraudulent data can compromise the system's effectiveness.
  4. App Maintenance: Regularly updating and maintaining the mobile app and server infrastructure to ensure smooth operation and address bugs or compatibility issues.
