The problem WasteNot solves

Hunger/ Wastage of food/ wastage of money. Basically ai/ml is used to keep track of the materials used and food consumed, it also keeps a track of food which is gonna be wasted. the project redirects the going to be wasted food and gives it to NGOs, then it later calculates and give the user the optimal amount of things they should actually buy to prevent wastage of this food. This helps to attain sustainablity. theere are also other features involved in the app such as ml model to scan the grocerries and tell the rotten ones, also the app gamifies the donation levels so as to engage users more.the user can do all this just by scanning the grocery bill each time. the bill contains the item names, which are used by the model to estimate time of getting spoilt and thus set a reminder. At the point when reminder rings, if the person is not able to finish his food he can donate it. This is also helpful majorly for companies and restraunts as they deal with a large number of inventory, mostly which is thrown to waste, the algorithm helps them to find the optimal amount of resources to order.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was and still is integrating model with app and libraries, also to keep the backend fully similar for both, the hosting and prossesing of these models on cloud itself.
