Challenges we ran into
Facial Recognition Privacy: Implementing tagging features without compromising user privacy was a delicate task. We overcame it by adding manual approval controls and optional face blurring.
Model Compatibility: Integrating models like YOLOv5 with Flask and ensuring performance on limited hardware required model conversion and optimization.
Geolocation & AR Sync: Merging live GPS data with AR visuals posed latency issues initially, resolved using throttled updates and mapbox integrations.
Secure Image Sharing: Allowing users to upload and classify images in real-time, while ensuring they aren’t publicly accessible, led to some backend architecture redesign with secure endpoints and MongoDB validation.
