The problem Walrus Data Marketplace solves
This project is a next-generation data marketplace platform that leverages Walrus decentralized storage and blockchain technology to create a secure, transparent, and user-friendly environment for buying, selling, and managing datasets. It is designed for researchers, businesses, data scientists, and organizations who need to exchange valuable data assets with confidence and efficiency.
Users can register as buyers or sellers, upload datasets, and set their own pricing. Sellers benefit from a streamlined upload process, with their data securely stored using Walrus storage, ensuring both durability and privacy. Buyers can browse available datasets, make purchases using integrated blockchain-based payments, and download the exact files uploaded by the seller—guaranteeing data authenticity and integrity.
The platform’s use of blockchain technology brings several advantages over traditional data marketplaces. Every transaction is recorded on-chain, providing an immutable audit trail and eliminating disputes over access or payment. Smart contracts automate the transfer of funds and access rights, reducing the need for intermediaries and manual verification. This not only speeds up the process but also lowers costs and increases trust between parties.

Challenges we ran into
- Making the Wallet Dynamic
Challenge:
Initially, our wallet integration was rigid and static, making it difficult for users to connect their own wallets and interact with the platform in a decentralized way.
How Comet Helped:
By leveraging Comet’s wallet management and integration tools, we were able to quickly implement dynamic wallet connections. Comet’s SDK allowed users to register, authenticate, and transact using their own wallets, making the onboarding process seamless and secure. - Integrating Walrus and Blockchain with the Wallet
Challenge:
