Voting-App
Vote securely. Trust the chain.
The problem Voting-App solves
Traditional online voting platforms are centralized, opaque, and vulnerable to manipulation. Users can’t verify whether their vote was actually counted, and results can be altered by backend admins.
This project solves that by putting the entire voting process onchain:
- Ensures each wallet can vote only once
- Stores all votes immutably on the blockchain
- Makes results publicly auditable and trustless
It’s ideal for DAOs, online communities, Web3 events, and decentralized competitions like Onchain Summer Awards.
Challenges I ran into
- RainbowKit now requires a WalletConnect
projectId, which initially broke wallet connections. I solved it by creating a free project on cloud.walletconnect.com. - Integrating Wagmi + RainbowKit with Next.js App Router took some time, as most docs were for the older Pages Router.
- I had to ensure one-wallet-one-vote logic purely onchain. This was solved using a mapping to prevent double voting.
- Deploying to Base Goerli required finding reliable faucets and setting up Alchemy RPC correctly.
- Syncing real-time vote count with the UI required careful use of Wagmi's hooks and state management.
