The problem VolunTier solves
VolunTier is a platform dedicated to connecting volunteers with NGOs to foster a collaborative environment for social good. Our mission is to bridge the gap between passionate individuals and organizations that are striving to make a difference in various sectors such as education, healthcare, environment, and more.
Challenges we ran into
Implementing Real-Time Updates:
Ensuring real-time updates for posts, comments, and likes in the community section demanded efficient use of Firestore's real-time capabilities. Handling real-time data synchronization and minimizing latency issues was crucial for maintaining a responsive user experience.
Developing the Events Management System:
Creating a robust system for NGOs to add events and volunteers to join them, including handling event data storage, volunteer registration, and displaying joined events in user profiles, involved complex data relationships and careful validation.
Maintaining Performance and Scalability:
Managing efficient data loading, and reducing unnecessary re-renders in React components.
