vivi, a virtual reality app built on Unity3D for Google Cardboard, that can help in spreading awareness about COVID-19 through immense virtual reality minigames. Playing through the game user can learn various facts about coronavirus and earn points. Points earned can later be redeemed from the shop to get various perks and cash rewards(experimental). The app also offers live data analysis of all the COVID-19 cases in India daily through an interactive sci-fi experience.
Building a virtual reality app on a platform that most of the people can access easily was a challenge. I decided to build on the most easily accessible and cheapest option available, Google Cardboard. The new XR system introduced in the 2020 version of unity doesn't support the google cardboard platform yet. So I had to switch to an older version of unity to build this app. The shop in the app works fine for all the perks but is unstable while redeeming some of the rewards.
