VIT-Meet is a E-learning web application that will enable students to attend meetings online using tools and technologies to interact with the faculties through their webcam.
The problem VIT-Meet, Video Conferencing Application solves
In today’s world of emerging technologies, education has
experienced more advancements in many Universities and
Institutions. Online learning is one of the imminent trends in the
education sector around the globe.
In the trying COVID-19 era, where social distancing and isolation
were the norms our application serves as a viable solution to bring students
and teachers together to promote e-learning.
The application will provide the students a more
comfortable environment with lower total
costs, career advancements, geographic
flexibility and more pacing options.
Challenges we ran into
Initially, it was time consuming to find out and test the libraries present
before settling on the technology of peerJS and socketIo using javascript.
Integration of the structures including video module, file upload, screenshare and jamboard after development independently took
some time.
Time was also spent to debug minor errors, integrate with the existing node.js
server and to manage the UI.
