The problem Viral solves
Viral solves the social fargmentation issues of manually managing and distributing content accross decentraclized and centralized social platforms, allowing users to effortlessly ampilfy their reach.
Creators, builders and founders once built their X presence until decentralized socials came and manually managing the offchain and onchain social is very hectic, time consuming and causes burnout leaving one social more active than the other.
Viral solves this by automatically distributing content of Farcaster and Base App users to X without the need to constantly open the mini-app as viral runs in the background. This removes the issuses of manual copy-pasting, reduce time wasting and make sure your content gets to their on-chain and Off-chain audience. We added schedule posting to allow users queue their post making time management optimized even better. it is the "set-it-and-forget-it" solution for content distribution.
Challenges we ran into
The major issue we had was with the X API billing, we couldn't get higher limits or use all the features we wanted because of our current plan. We still used X API to make sure that our users are safe and our build is solid we had to pay for the basic plan and the features that require the premium plan had to be put on-hold for now.
Another was Neynar API downtimes which caused cross-post to delay for a few minutes before eventually sending multiple request per post to X. We already had a system in place that only debits the users if the cross post was successful while X API handled the multiple request by not allowing duplicate messages per user to go through so no user was debitted more than once and only one post was made the issue did not cause any major problems aside delayed cross post.

What is your product’s unique value proposition?
Viral is the easiest way farcaster and Base App users can maintain their X presence without manual copy pasting of contents.
It automatically syncs your posts across platforms, no need to copy, paste or log in twice or even open the mini app constantly.
Unlike other tools that require constant setup, Viral works quietly in the background once the toggle is on, keeping your presence consistent wherever your audience lives.
With built-in scheduling, thread support and smart media optimization, it is the "set-it-and-forget-it" autopilot for your onchain and offchain social presence.
Our alpha will directly validate the "set it and forget it" promise by tracking key behavioral metrics. We'll measure toggle activation rates to see if users actually want automated crossposting and most importantly monitor retention to confirm they keep it enabled overtime without needing to open the app.
We'll analyze the ratio of manual posts to automatic cross-posts to validate whether users trust Viral to work invisibly in the background and track scheduling feature adoption to test if time optimization resonates. Through both quantitative data and user feedbackwe'll know if we've truly solved the pain point of maintaining dual platform presence.
Success means users connect once, toggle on, and continue posting naturally on their preferred platform while Viral handles the rest proving that effortless cross-platform syncing is genuinely valuable.
Who is your target customer?
Our target customers are active Farcaster and Base App users who also maintain a presence on X (Twitter), particularly crypto-native builders and content creators who are invested in decentralized social but can't afford to abandon their established X audience.
We've validated this is the right audience through several signals firstly by observing that many prominent farcaster and Base App users (e.g Jesse pollak who has voiced the need for such platforms) manually duplicate their content on X, indicating they see value in both platforms but find the process tedious. Secondly direct conversations with Farcaster and Base App community members who expressed frustration about having to "post everything twice" to maintain visibility and finally noticing that successful Web3 creators consistently emphasize the importance of multi-platform presence for reach and community building.
Additionally, Farcaster's and Base App's growing user base combined with the reality that most users still have larger followings on X creates a clear pain point; they want to embrace decentralized social without sacrificing their existing audience.
This dual-platform existence is currently manual and time consuming, making our automation solution particularly valuable for this specific audience who understands both ecosystems and wants to bridge them efficiently.
Who are your closest competitors and how are you different?
Our closest competitor is cross-caster mini app https://farcaster.xyz/miniapps/foaFQqLCzF9v/crosscaster
Our core defensibility comes from a fundamental insight our
competitors have missed; creators don't want another app to open and remember to use, they want invisible infrastructure that works automatically while they focus on creating. While our competitors are also Mini-apps, they still require users to manually open the app and post from inside it to cross-post to X and Farcaster. Viral operates completely differently; users simply toggle automation only once, then post naturally on their preferred platform either Farcaster or Base App and we handle everything automatically in the background.
This creates a massive moat because:
-
True "set it and forget it" automation creates an irreversible
habit, once users experience never having to open our app after
initial setup, going back to manually opening a competitor's Mini-app to cross-post feels like a massive step backward. -
Different user behavior = different retention, competitors rely on users building a habit of opening their app while we rely on users NOT needing to think about us at all, which paradoxically creates stronger retention. Competitors are stuck in the "post from our interface" paradigm. We've eliminated the interface entirely for day-to-day use.
That's a fundamentally different product philosophy that's difficult to copy without rebuilding their entire architecture.
What is your distribution strategy and why?
Our distribution strategy leverages Farcaster's and Base App native viral loops and community driven discovery. First, we launch as a Mini app directly within Farcaster and Base App making Viral instantly accessible to users without requiring them to leave the platform. This reduces friction and positions us where our target audience already spends their time. We'll incentivize early adopters to share their cross-posted content with a subtle "cross-posted with Viral" attribution on synchronized tweets and casts, creating organic awareness as their audiences on both platforms see the tool in action.
We'll also engage directly with influential Farcaster and Base App builders, offering early access in exchange for feedback and authentic testimonials. These creators and builders are highly trusted within the community and their endorsement carries significant weight.
Additionally, we'll participate actively in Farcaster channels focused on creators, builders and tooling (e.g base builds, base creators, talent protocol) sharing updates and gathering feedback in real-time.
We chose this strategy because the Base community is uniquely open to trying new tools built on the protocol, values genuine builder involvement over traditional marketing and has a strong network effect where useful tools can spread rapidly through social proof. By being native to the platform and community first in our approach, we tap into the very cross-posting behavior we're solving for our users while they become our distribution channel.
We'll also meet with the base ecosystem leads and ambassadors of each region to give us an introduction into the existing base community in their region giving us access to creators and builders.
