The problem Villa Rental RWA - Pelita Bangsa Academy 3 solves

1. Transparency and Security: The platform ensures that renters can confidently transfer ETH directly to the property owner's wallet. By leveraging blockchain technology, the system guarantees the security and transparency of all transactions. This eliminates the risk of fraud and ensures that both renters and property owners can trust the integrity of the payment process.

2. Automated Management: The use of smart contracts automates the entire rental management process, from booking to payment and reward distribution. These are reducing the risk of human error and increasing efficiency.

3. Transparent and Automated Rewards: Every user who has rented the villa will automatically earn the VLT Tokens based on how long they stay at the Villa. These tokens can be accumulated and redeemed for various rewards, enhancing user engagement and loyalty. The reward system includes four levels:
   a. Basic Rewards (5-30 VLT Tokens): Renter could enjoy 5% Discount on The Next Rental
   b. Silver Rewards (31-90 VLT Tokens): Enjoy 7% Discount on The Next Rental, Early Check-In or Late Check-Out, and Exclusive Access to Seasonal Promotions
   c. Gold Rewards (91-150 VLT Tokens): Free 1-Day Stay for Every 14 Days Rent, Priority Booking, Welcome Package
   d. Platinum Rewards (150+ VLT Tokens): VIP Concierge Services, Complimentary Spa Treatments, Enjoy Free Food and Drinks, and Exclusive Villa Access.

Blockchain technologies ensures that rewards are distributed transparently and automatically, without the need for manual redemption.

4. Global Access: By utilizing Ethereum and blockchain, the system enables rental access from anywhere in the world without geographical limitations.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of our project, we encountered several challenges that required persistence, learning, and collaboration to overcome.

a. Rent Function Failure: The first hurdle we faced was with the "Rent This Villa" function. Initially, we missed adding the payable keyword, causing execution failures. However, the real issue was that msg.value wasn't being sent from the front end to the smart contract. Identifying the issue was just the first step. Implementing the solution in the front end was another challenge. After continuous learning and testing, we successfully passed msg.value into the contract.

b. Front-End and Smart Contract Integration: Our next challenge was integrating the front end with the smart contract. We initially thought the issue lay within the smart contract itself. After re-testing, it became clear that the problem was with the React component, specifically "availability.tsx", which lacked the functionality to handle msg.value. By carefully debugging and making the necessary adjustments, we overcame this obstacle.

c. Testing with Foundry Framework: Testing our smart contract using the Foundry framework presented another set of difficulties. We initially encountered several failed test scenarios. Despite this setback, we sought help from our mentor at Pelita Bangsa Academy, whose guidance, combined with our persistence, helped us to eventually pass all test cases successfully.

Each of these challenges taught us valuable lessons in debugging, integration, and persistence, ultimately strengthening our project and our team’s capabilities.
