The problem Veriflow solves
Our project is a full-stack Ethereum dApp built with Solidity smart contracts, deployed on a Hardhat Ethereum network, integrated with MetaMask for transaction signing, and uses ETH as the native token. Since it follows the Ethereum architecture and can be deployed to public Ethereum testnets/mainnet, it qualifies for the ETH track.
Challenges we ran into
Coming into this project with no prior experience in Web3, smart contracts, or escrow systems, the biggest challenge was navigating an entirely new paradigm of development. Unlike traditional applications, blockchain required us to think in terms of immutability, gas costs, transaction states, and asynchronous execution. Designing a secure escrow logic without the possibility of post-deployment changes demanded careful planning and testing. Integrating the frontend with on-chain data, managing local networks, handling wallets, and abstracting crypto complexity for a seamless user experience added further complexity. Understanding trust models, transaction failures, and state synchronization took significant experimentation, but ultimately helped us build a robust and practical system from the ground up.
