A browser extension wallet supporting multiple EVM-based blockchain networks, providing a developer-friendly API & ensures security!

The problem VaultX solves

VaultX solves the fragmentation problem in blockchain wallets by supporting multiple EVM-based networks in one extension. Users no longer need separate wallets for different blockchains like Ethereum and Solana, simplifying their crypto management experience.
The project addresses the developer integration challenge by providing a standardized API that works seamlessly with React applications. Developers often struggle with complicated wallet connections, but VaultX requires minimal configuration, making blockchain integration straightforward for app creators.
Security concerns are a major problem in cryptocurrency management, and VaultX tackles this by implementing robust security measures. Using the Web Crypto API and IndexedDB, it ensures private keys never leave the extension and remain encrypted, protecting users from the common vulnerabilities that lead to crypto theft.
Cross-browser compatibility issues are eliminated as VaultX works consistently across Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. This solves the frustration users face when their preferred wallet only works on specific browsers, giving them freedom to use their preferred browsing environment.
The complex user experience of most crypto wallets is simplified through VaultX's intuitive interface. Many users avoid blockchain technology because of confusing interfaces, but VaultX provides a clean, user-friendly experience for both wallet and transaction management.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of my browser extension wallet, I encountered several challenges. Making the wallet work across multiple EVM networks proved difficult because each blockchain has its own quirks and requirements. Even though they share a similar foundation, small differences in how they handle transactions and data caused unexpected errors.
Security was another major concern. Since this is a wallet, keeping private keys safe was the top priority. I had to make sure encryption was strong and that keys were stored securely without making things too complicated for users.
Making sure the extension worked smoothly across different browsers was another hurdle. Chrome, Firefox, and Edge all have slight differences in how they handle extensions, so getting a consistent experience everywhere took extra effort.
Setting up the wallet is minimal and hassle-free. Developers don’t have to deal with complex configurations—just a few lines of code, and it’s ready to go.
The interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy to send transactions, check balances, and manage wallets without confusion. Ensuring all of our priorities were met was definitely a challenge.
